Yet the recidivism rates remain high. More than half of young people who have served a prison sentence commit another crime and are back in juvenile detention within two years. Pointer investigates why this figure remains so high. Is it simply a group that cannot be saved? Or are we asking the impossible of young people who are struggling with complex problems?
